Scrittrice e traduttrice, tiene un corso di traduzione dal francese presso l'Università per stranieri di Siena. Ha pubblicato Etimologiario (Longanesi), piccolo dizionario di etimologie inventate, e alcune storie per bambini (Doppiogioco, Giunti); presso l'editore Vanni Scheiwiller ha in preparazione la raccolta di poesie Stampelle. Traduttrice di Queneau (Quercia e cane, Il Melangolo, e Centomila miliardi di baci, Archinto, selezione di lettere e brani del diario), e di Perec (Ellis Island, Archinto). Ha curato un volume monografico su Nabokov ("Riga", Marcos y Marcos, 1999). Interessata agli sconfinamenti tra scrittura e arti figurative, ha partecipato a diverse mostre d'arte esponendo poesie, attraverso l'uso del video e di altri supporti. Di recente ha pubblicato Smentimenti (Greco & Greco, 2000).
